Why I Hate WoW.com.

Yes, you should use a Hunter statstick for physical DPS.

Yes, you should use a Hunter statstick for physical DPS (Feral Druids excluded).

From their Lichborne: Blood, blood! article.

Blood DKs have “less Howling Blasts and Killing Machine style magic damage, less pet management, less reliance on shadow damage (although it should be admitted that most DPS blood DK’s go up to get Necrosis and Blood Caked Blade) and more stacking physical damage buffs and unrelenting self healing.” That’s why they’re better.

Now, just ignore the numerous typos, grammatical errors and other unprofessional errors and just take in the absolute stupidity that is wow.com. The guy who usually writes Lichborne is bad enough, and this new guy is bad enough to make me think that his writing is supposed to be a joke.

Yes, the key talents of Frost (Rime/KM) and Unholy (ghoul management, an abundance of shadow damage) won’t be present in a Blood build. No shit. Its like the writer just had to pull reasons out of the air as to why Blood is “better”, and  just put down that garbage instead. Why not mention why Blood may be worse than Unholy/Frost? Why not reemphasize just how good Hysteria is? Why not state that Blood’s single-target DPS is really good, but has very sub-par AoE damage? Because he’d rather insult the reader by assuming they’re incredibly stupid, and he’d rather make an ass of himself.

Also, maybe a podcast this week! :O

I suppose I agree, he really should have gone a lot more in-depth with the abilities instead of just naming them off here and there. To be honest, I would have loved to see a lot more out of the Tanking perspective.

Just adding the Tanking alone would heavily support that argument. Sure the AoE threat is tricky, but for survivability and single target threat, it is definitely the BEST. Yes, you get hit a bit more, but in turn the self preservation (healing) you create in the process should be much greater then the damage you are receiving.

For a basic overview of the Blood Spec, it was not horrible, and you also got to give some credit to the guy. He is not their “expert”, he is merely filling in for the normal writer.

Could be better, but can’t we all?

A bit of hatred is good for the DK’s soul.

I don’t tend to pay much attention to the site, ahaha. I read WoM and … various blogs. >.>

I can see that article helping out somebody that’s like, “Dur hur waht does blood do lol”, but it didn’t share anything that isn’t freaking obvious via tooltips and the like. EFFORT PLZ.

I could make some arguments about why frost is best, or unholy or blood. All 3 trees have viable specs of a sort – and all 3 currently have viable tanking specs. I tend to recommend the tanking tree be what they are most familiar with dpsing in, so eh, I’ve helped gear/spec blood dk tanks and an unholy one as well as several frost 2h and dw.

But yeah, I don’t typically bother reading wow.com’s class specific columns… too many things I disagree with.

    @Gravity Hells to the yes

@Motojo Aifel and I were discussing this last night after he posted it. Despite the fact that I said it wasn’t horrible earlier, I agree with his thought that since WoW.com is really one of the most popular sites, the quality of ANY of their articles should be as close to perfect as possible.

@Askevar Yes, their class specific columns seem to lack good info. You’ll get a gem every once and again.

To be honest, I think the DK one is the worst overall.
